The Story

Thomas T Thomas Vineyards is a culmination of a dream that began in 1999, on a wine tasting trip to the Burgundy wine region of France.  I began my trip in Dijon traveling south and stopping in each of the of the northern villages to taste their unique expression of Red Burgundies and the great wines of Vosne Romanee and Chambertin.  After reaching Beaune and continuing to travel south, I experienced the region’s White Burgundies and the great wines of Puligny and Chassange- Montrachet. Surrounded by amazing vistas and vineyards as far as the eye could see, I became intoxicated with the thought of recreating the atmosphere that I was experiencing and seriously enjoying. The wines tasted in each village had their own rich history and tradition, and you could taste that history and tradition in every bottle. The dream was in full bloom by now…the dream of owning a vineyard, winery and making wine.

In 2001, with my dream now my passion, I was able to purchase 36 acres of land in the Anderson Valley, which is located in Mendocino County, California.  I have since developed parts of the property, building a home and in 2008, I planted a three acre parcel to pinot noir and also constructed our winery building.  The plan was to initially sell the grapes to get a better understanding of the site and to also learn about the wine business.  After selling the grapes for seven years, in 2017 I finally established my own brand, taking two tons from the 2017 vintage and bottled the first Thomas T Thomas Vineyards Reserve Pinot Noir.  Beginning with the 2018 vintage I stopped selling the grapes and will produce four unique pinot noirs for my customers.  The goal has been and will always be to develop the highest quality wines and to farm all my properties using sustainable practices.  I look forward to you joining with me on my journey as I discover and develop my own family traditions, while creating high quality California Pinot Noir from the beautiful Anderson Valley.
